What are you looking for?
Although call cost have dropped by 18% since last year (Ofcom) but line rental charges have increased by 10 - 12% on average. The call costs depend on your needs and pricing plan but saving can be made on the line rent.
2) Try bundle packages - with many home phone land line suppliers, you can make further savings by taking advantage of bundled phone and broadband packages. For example, you may find that bundling your land line and broadband with one supplier could be a cheaper deal that will save you some money.

3) Don’t pay the easy extras - pay your home phone bill by Direct Debit as most supplier charge around an extra £1.50 per month. Betting online / paperless billing can also save you money. BT charge £1.25 per month for printing and sending out paper phone bills to customers. These two things can save you almost £3 per month.

4) Think before you exit - If you are in a 2 or 18-month land line phone contract, you will normally be expected to pay an exit fee to terminate early. If this is the case, you should check and add the savings you will make by switching suppliers against the cost which you will have to pay to terminate your existing phone contracts early.

5) Use the free minutes - be mindful of the off peak / peak call rates and make full use of the unlimited evening tariff if you have one.
If your home one of the 73% of British homes that has never switched their home phones, then now might be a time to do so and there are several price comparison sites (gocompare.com & uswitch.com) that can help you find a suitable and cheaper package.

There are few money saving tip to bear in mind when it comes to switching your land line phone supplier:

1) Switch for calls not line rental - you shouldn’t switch to a new land line home phone supplier just because the line rental is cheaper. The most you will save is around £3 a month. But if you switch to a supplier that offers cheaper call rates you could make a larger amount of savings on your home phone bill.
