In a lot of debt - please help!

In a lot of debt - please help!

Postby Ohoh » Sat Mar 20, 2010 6:27 am

Hi folks.

I'm in a bit of trouble.

My mother borrowed some money a while ago, and I signed the papers with her as guarantee. She cannot pay the loan back anymore, and the debt collectors have started chasing me!

I borrowed some money from my boyfriend, and lied to him about when I could pay it back.

I even had to sell my telephone that my boyfriend gave me, I told him I lost it.

Please help me, I have a new job to start at a nursery in a month or so, but I just don't know how I am going to cope until then.

Oh.

Scheming and telling lies is no way to manage debt, you will only get yourself in more trouble.

You better hope your boyfriend doesn't find out, if I were him I would kick you to the curb!

You should consider going to see a debt Councillor and checking out the information on this page http://www.cozyprices.com/debt%20consolidation.html.

I don't know how much money your mother owes, or how much you owe your boyfriend, but I can imagine on the salary you will earn at a nursery it will take quite some time to pay it back, perhaps you should consider a part time job as well.

I know it was wrong to lie, but what choice did I have?

After reading the advice about selling a car that I found on this page http://www.cozyprices.com/selling%20a%20car.html, I had a talk with my brother and mother.

I'm going to go back to my hometown on Monday and sell my mums car for her, and we will use the money towards the debt. I will also pay back my boyfriend unless I can think of another way to put him off for a bit longer.
